In the book of Genesis, we read that God created our bodies and called them good! The Psalmists describe the people of God praying bodily: kneeling, standing, bowing. When we stop to notice our bodies and the presence of the Holy Spirit in them, it can make for a time of rich connection with God. We invite you to take a moment and sit down with your child and make a list of everyone they love at Jonah’s Call--kids and adults! Encourage your child to pray through the list, either extemporaneously or as you lead. We invite you to do some research with your kid about poor and oppressed communities in the U.S. and abroad. Talk about the causes of their circumstances, and invite your child in their own words to ask God’s blessing on them, for God to comfort and liberate them.
